Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Supience website and its tools and content.
Supience is operated by T.O, an independent researcher based in Nigeria.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
By using this website, you acknowledge these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
1. What Supience provides
Supience provides general informational content and a browser-based information-quality tool intended to help users identify aspects of written information that may deserve closer examination.
The Supience Information Indicator evaluates observable characteristics of submitted text. It is not a fact-check, truth detector, source certification or guarantee of accuracy.
2. Informational use only
Supience is provided for general informational and educational purposes.
Nothing on the website constitutes professional medical, legal, financial, investment, cybersecurity, safety or other specialized advice.
When a decision could have significant consequences, you should consult appropriate authoritative sources and, where necessary, qualified professionals.
3. Tool results and limitations
Scores and indicators produced by Supience are based on observable characteristics of the text supplied to the tool.
A high indicator does not establish that a claim is true, accurate, current or complete. A low indicator does not establish that a claim is false.
The tool may fail to recognize relevant context, qualifications, sources or other characteristics of a particular piece of information. Results should therefore be treated as prompts for further examination, not as conclusions about the underlying claim.
You are responsible for verifying important information against appropriate evidence and authoritative sources before relying on it.
4. User responsibility
You are responsible for how you interpret and use information obtained from Supience.
You should not represent a Supience result to another person as proof that a claim, source, organization, individual or website is truthful, trustworthy or accurate.
You are also responsible for ensuring that any material you submit to the website is information you are permitted to submit.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the website in a way that violates applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to interfere with the operation, availability or security of the website;
- intentionally overload the website or its supporting infrastructure;
- use automated systems to scrape or access the website in a manner that places unreasonable load on the service;
- misrepresent Supience output as professional advice, official certification or an authoritative fact-check;
- submit information that you are not authorized to disclose; or
- submit passwords, payment information, authentication codes, government identification numbers or other highly sensitive information through the contact form.
6. Information submitted by users
The Information Check is designed to perform its core analysis in the browser. The contact form, however, uses a third-party service to process messages.
You should review the Privacy Policy before submitting information through the website.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit does not violate another person's privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property rights or other legal rights.
7. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the original text, structure, design and code of Supience are owned by or used with permission by the operator.
You may access, read, share and link to Supience for personal, educational or informational purposes.
You may not republish substantial portions of the site's original written content as your own or present Supience's original materials as being produced by you.
Third-party names, trademarks, logos and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
8. Third-party services
Supience may use third-party services to support particular website functions.
For example, the contact form uses Formspree. If advertising or analytics services are enabled in the future, additional third-party providers may be used.
Your interaction with a third-party service may be subject to that provider's own terms, privacy policy and other conditions.
9. External websites and links
Supience may link to external websites, sources, tools or services. These links are provided for convenience or informational purposes.
Supience does not control third-party websites and does not guarantee their accuracy, availability, security, privacy practices or content.
Visiting an external website is your responsibility, and you should review its applicable terms and privacy policies.
10. Advertising
Supience may be supported in the future through advertising or other legitimate website revenue sources.
Advertising, if enabled, may be provided by third-party advertising services and may be subject to additional technologies, policies and terms.
The appearance of advertising on the website does not constitute an endorsement by Supience of every advertised product, service or claim.
11. Availability and changes
Supience may change, update, suspend or discontinue parts of the website, including individual tools, features or content, without guaranteeing that a particular feature will remain available.
Reasonable efforts may be made to keep the website available and functional, but continuous or uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
12. Accuracy of website content
The operator aims to provide useful and carefully prepared information, but website content may contain errors, omissions or information that becomes outdated over time.
You should verify information that is important to you against appropriate authoritative sources.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website, its content and its tools are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
Supience does not guarantee that the website or its results will always be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Supience and its operator will not be responsible for losses or damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its tools.
This includes decisions made based on a Supience indicator, written content or information obtained through an external link.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
15. Privacy
Your use of the website is also subject to the Privacy Policy, which explains how information may be handled by Supience and relevant third-party services.
16. Changes to these terms
These Terms of Use may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the website, services, legal requirements or operating practices.
When material changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be updated.
Your continued use of the website after updated terms are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
17. Governing law
The application of particular laws to these terms may depend on the circumstances of the user, the operator and the relevant activity. No specific governing-law provision is stated here at this time.
This section should be reviewed by appropriate legal counsel if Supience develops into a formal commercial service or its legal structure or jurisdiction changes.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms of Use can be sent to [email protected] or submitted through the contact page.
