About Supience

Supience is an independent information-quality tool. It was created to help readers examine online claims, AI-generated answers, recommendations and other information before deciding whether to rely on them.

Why the site exists

Modern information can be produced, copied and summarized faster than most people can inspect it. AI systems can generate fluent, confident answers on almost any topic. At the same time, the evidence behind a claim is often harder to see than the claim itself.

Supience was built around a simple observation: the useful question is usually not "Is this definitely true?" but "What should I verify before I act on it?"

The tool focuses on observable characteristics — evidence clues, specificity, uncertainty and verifiability — that can help a reader decide where to look next.

What the tool is not

Supience is not a fact-checking service. It does not maintain a database of verified claims, and it cannot independently determine whether a specific statement is true or false.

It does not replace professional advice, authoritative primary sources or human judgment.

A score produced by the tool is an indicator of observable signals in the text you paste. It is not a probability that the information is correct.

What we value

Transparency

The methodology behind the indicator is published in plain language on the Methodology page, including important limitations.

Human judgment

The tool is designed to support investigation, not replace it. Decisions remain with the person using the tool.

Practicality

The goal is a short, useful prompt that helps someone decide what to check — not a complicated report that nobody reads.

What we avoid

We avoid presenting automated scores as certainty. We avoid implying that a citation automatically proves a claim, that confident wording reflects accuracy, or that a low indicator means the information is false.

Who runs the site

Supience is operated by T.O, an independent researcher based in Nigeria.

The site is independently operated and is not affiliated with any AI provider, publisher or fact-checking organization.

Questions, corrections, accessibility feedback and other legitimate messages can be sent to [email protected] or through the contact page.

How the site is supported

Supience is designed to be a free-to-use resource. As the project develops, the site may be supported through advertising and other legitimate website revenue sources.

Any advertising or commercial support is intended to help maintain the website and does not determine the methodology used by the information-quality tool or the educational purpose of its content.

How the site is developed

Supience is developed as an independent project with an emphasis on practical usefulness, transparency and responsible interpretation of automated results.

The site may be updated as the tool, methodology, supporting content and technical implementation develop.

Corrections and feedback

If you find an error in a page, a broken link or something that could be explained more clearly, please use the contact page.

Corrections and feedback that improve the accuracy, clarity or accessibility of the site are welcome.

To understand how the tool works before using it, start with the Guide or read the Methodology.

Supience is intended to help people ask better verification questions, not to make decisions for them. Important information should still be checked against appropriate evidence and authoritative sources.
