Supience Guide
AI Hallucination Check
AI-generated text can be fluent and specific while still containing claims that need verification. Supience does not independently detect or certify hallucinations, but its information-quality indicators can help identify passages that deserve closer checking.
Signals worth checking
Pay particular attention to precise claims with no identifiable evidence, named studies or quotations that cannot be located, outdated dates, unsupported certainty, and recommendations whose criteria are not explained.
A safer verification process
- Break the answer into individual claims.
- Prioritize claims that affect an important decision.
- Search for the original evidence or authoritative source.
- Check whether the source actually supports the claim.
- Confirm dates, numbers, names and relevant conditions.
- Record uncertainty when the evidence is incomplete.
What Supience cannot establish
A Supience indicator cannot prove that an AI answer is hallucinated, true or false. It is an investigation aid rather than an automated fact-checking system.
